Happy Birthday Russell!

Russell turned 2 years old last Monday. We didn't throw a huge party, but Russell had a good time with his Nana (Grandma Fowers) here and also I had some time off. In the morning he wanted to go for a hike, so I took him out to "hike to water" as requested by the birthday boy. Natalie and her mom stayed and enjoyed the company of little Autumn.
Another highlight of Russell's day was blowing out candles on his cake.
Here is his Tractor cake he requested from Nana. I tried to convince him to go with John Deere Green, but he really wanted blue. It tasted as great as it looks.
My folks got Russell this cool little track with motorized Jeeps that drive around. He thinks its awesome. We've already burnt through a pack of AA's in the little cars!
As I had hoped, Russell is a fan of Lightning McQueen and Mater. He has asked for this blanket several times when he's seen it at Walmart, Target and JoAnn's so we were hoping it would be just as spectacular at home. We weren't disappointed and he now sleeps with his Mater blanket every night.
Russell loves his balloons!
Russell being a Big Brother and holding Autumn at the hospital.
Autumn is cuddled up in one of her little blankets. And look at that head of hair. (Pretty impressive for a bald guy :-) This is the same outfit we had her in at the hospital because our little ones run small, and we only had one preemie outfit. This is a great view of what Autumn likes to do during the day -- see below for what she likes to do at night.
Here is our little angel with her eyes open. Russell tells me they're blue and black. (I've learned to just go with his colors, he's usually closer than I am.)
