trip to the zoo

One day during nap/quiet time Russell came to me and had all of this stuff on that is all for playing with, and said, "I look like Dad!" He put it all back on when Chad got home so that he could see. Complete with: name badge, phone in pocket, watch, and stethoscope.
We went to the Idaho Falls Zoo a couple of weeks ago and Grandma and Papa Johnson were able to come too. We had a great time. Here we are waiting for a penguin to jump into the water, we waited in vain.

Autumn is having a nice conversation, I am sure with the lama.

The mighty lion!

Every time the kids could see one of the animals like this they ran to it.
 Papa and Autumn.
 This monkey was funny.
And here we have a Johnson Doggy-Pile! (I hopped out to take the picture.)

What Vacations are made of

We got to go on vacation a couple of weeks ago, although it feels like it was last year already. We had a great time, we got to visit with Chads cousins in Utah and then one in Henderson, (our old home) and then we got to see his grandparents in California, friends in Henderson, we worked hard, played at the beach and drove a ton and had a ball doing it. I took so many pictures that by the end of the week my camera battery was all but dead. We wish that we could do that more often,
This is one of Chad's cousins and her new husband, she is living in the same complex that we first lived in when we lived in Henderson. She just started the PA program.
 Chad's Grandparents in California.
Our good friend Helen and her dog Renie in Henderson.
Russell and Autumn had so much fun playing with the balls on the pool table.
Russell thought that the treadmill was the best! I was the one standing behind for when he feel to catch, I only had to do it once. He really got going fast too.
Grandpa is one really good pool player, he killed Chad every game they played.
Grandpa, Chad and myself looked like this by lunch time on Labor Day. We wanted to clean up some avocado leaves and surprise them, but we had no idea how many there were. It took us longer than we thought and turned in to quite a bit of work. We ended up putting the leaves through a leaf shredder, that is why we looked like this.
Both Russell and Autumn loved this little car, Russell actually really loved to pull the break.
It was a good thing that Autumn's legs were too short to touch the ground, because she refused to keep them up. But she was really good at driving.
The beach was a blast, the first day we went we went to Crescent bay.

Russell and Autumn feet, oh so cute!
We were all running back to our spot on the beach.
Autumn loved everything about the beach, the waves were hilarious to her and she loved to get wet and the sand was a blast, it even tasted good, well it must have since she was eating so much of it.
Russell also had a ton of fun, he really hated the water I think that it was just too much of it for the big man, But he loved playing in the sand.
The second day we took Grandma and Grandpa so we went to Hunnington Beach. The waves were crazy! Russell refused to get even his feet wet.
The storm must have brought the fish close to shore. We got to see a small group of dolphin's have a great time.

Chad built little tunnels in the sand and Autumn would stick her face clear down and look at his hand, it was really funny.
We love this picture because Autumn is looking at Grandma and Russell at Grandpa.
We stopped in to show the kids the Bellagio garden. It was fun we never went this time of year,
We then decided to take them to see the Lions at the MGM only to find that they no longer live there, it was a huge disappointment. So then we went to the rain forest cafe, and showed the kids the fish there. Russell fell in love with the fake gator, he was growling at it. He misses the reptile gardens.
This was him not being in the water making snow, I mean, sand angels.
