To keep entertained

Entertainment around here has been wild! This is bubble solution and you take a straw and blow and it makes mounds of bubbles, it was huge inside, so I decided to take it outside. Then Autumn got to it. Then we had to wash it off of the cement, which turned into our next game. They splashed in the water till they were soaked. Russell had just dropped his straw, that is what they are looking at.
Autumn thought that him splashing was hilarious!
Cleaning out I found a open bag of old dinner mints, and was about to throw them out, when I though, hey they are not toxic, let the kids play with them! They had a blast then made a huge mess. ha ha
We were painting, and he was wearing his favorite shirt and was worried that he was going to get paint on it, so I took it off for him. I then turned around and he had painted all the way up to his arm pit. He thought it was fun.
She just wanted to enjoy a apple laying on the bean bag, but got ambushed!
My superheros!
One day I turned around because Autumn was sort of squeeling, and Russell was sitting on my old Radio Flyer with her. I asked him what he was doing while pulling him off. Once off he said, Mom look there is room for me too! That is after he had pushed her off the seat to sit between the seat and handle bars. But they were having fun, so they continued till it ended in tears.
A quick ride before church!
Autumn and Russell both love the Allens and baby Clair is a new highlight for them.
We made Rock Monsters, the red was his favorite!
We went and played in the "water" we went to the indoor hot tub and let the kids splash around for a few minutes, they thought that it was great! Autumn is also loving her new swim attire for the year.
Russell was so excited to go that he would only hold still for this one picture. This is his favorite shirt by the way. It says, My Dad Rocks, and there is a drum set on it.

Hike and bubbles

We have had some really nice days so we went for a hike one morning, it was still a bit cold in the morning, but it was really so nice. That did not keep the water in the lake we hiked to from being frozen. I walked down to the edge and I guessed that it was around 3 inches thick still, but there were patches where you could see it was really thin, and cracking all over. We decided to take the "short cut" it was a really bad idea. But we made it. The picture above is the top of bad hill we climbed. It is hard to tell from the picture how steep it was, but that iron rod that Chad is holding on to was truly needed.
Autumn thought that walking and sliding on the ice was so much fun.
It was like 80 degrees right here in the sun, so we played with the bubbles and had a blast!

Russell is 3!

We had another great Birthday week around here. Russell had dinosaur birthday. He was so excited to blow out the candles. He had a great time opening gifts, what child doesn't like that? He loves everything! He got so excited about everything opened.
I know the dino is not great looking, but I did the best I could we played pin the tail, teeth and eye on the dino. Russell cheated.
Our friends the Allen's came over, Russell just loves them to death! Nate even got to help Russell and Chad with the archeology dig. I froze two small dinosaurs in ice and he had to break them out. We needed a smaller hammer.
We got a great deal on balloons and Russell was in heaven. We only did just a few for Autumn's birthday, because we knew that Russell would like it even more. We got one of the balloon time boxes that has the balloons and the helium in it and wow what a great deal. Not to mention that we got it on clearance, doesn't get much better than that, except for the pure joy of your child when he sees balloons on his chair!
This is the pin the tail on T-Rex.
Russell wanted a dinosaur birthday cake, which is why we did a dino party. I am quite pleased at how the cake turned out. No it is not a pan. I found a picture I liked on line and cut it out of a 9x13 cake. He turned out so cute. So to say the least I am very pleased with how the butterfly turned out last week and now the dinosaur.
For breakfast on his birthday, he wanted pancakes with sprinkles. So that is what he got. He Loved it!
On the eve of his birthday, he and Dad set up the tent and did a camp out in the living room, so when he woke in the morning it would be his birthday, Camping! He got to open 3 gifts on his actual birthday, because we did not celebrated till Saturday. He overall had a great time and loved everything, is a bit disappointed that he has to wait another year for another birthday, but will survive. Thank you all for cards and gifts!
