Vacation!

We went on a wild vacation! Chad had a conference in Florida so after he had been there for a few days the kids and I flew out and met him there. We got to stay in the amazing hotel that the meetings were in and play on the private beach and in the giant pools. The first day we hit the beach and had a great time. We played in the ocean every day of our trip, minus Sunday.
Both kids loved the Ocean and it was so warm and beautiful.
Autumn was always wanting to spend more time looking for sea shells and digging in the sand.
Autumn fell asleep on the beach, I covered her with a towel and then buried Russell, his eyes are closed because it was too sunny. When it came to taking pictures he was always squinting from the sun. We played on the beach a lot while Chad was in meetings. He always knew where to find us.

Russell and Autumn got new shirts from Grandma and Grandpa Johnson and got to wear them for the first time they were really excited, and this is from the balcony of our room on the 21st floor!

While at the conference one thing Chad had to do was present this case. His poster is awesome!

This was Sunday after church this is as close as we got to the ocean that day.
There was an authentic Argentine place on the board walk we had to go get some empanadas! They were really good. I like Chad's better but they were still really good.

We made it on to the boat on Monday morning.

The second night the little kids area did a princess night for Autumn's age group. She loved it!
Every night the kids looked forward to seeing a new towel animal on the bed.
Their dreams came true when we came to this pond filled with rescued sea turtles.

We went to an aquarium and saw lots of fish.

They both got to touch a starfish in the petting tank. That was good, because we later saw a starfish in the ocean and they didn't feel the urge to touch it.

Not quite sure what this helmet was there for, but Russell liked putting his head in it.

This was the cruise ship we were on.
It was a great vacation! We all had a really good time, and weren't ready to leave. On our way home in the airport, both of the kids were ready to plan our next vacation.

Russell's Birthday

Russell had a great Birthday! He wanted angel food cake with a butter sauce. It was really good and enjoyed by all! He had fun opening all of his gifts and we spent most of the rest of the day playing with them.

So instead of doing parties this year we did something fun each day. Starting on Monday (Autumn's Birthday: we went to the aquarium in Draper, Tuesday we went and got ice cream really late. Wednesday we went to the dinosaur museum on BYU campus, (now that I think about it I should have taken them to the bean museum that one is cooler) Thursday I took them to Krispy Kream and let them pick whatever doughnut that they wanted. Friday we went to Jump on it. (a trampoline place, with foam pits) Saturday we went to a go kart place and went for a ride. They loved it so much! And then we had a women's basket ball game to go to. Cosmo came over and he gave each of the kids a huge t-shirt.
And I had to throw the pictures in of Autumn helping me in the kitchen we were making some cinnamon swirl bread. And she loves to put the eggs in the containers for me. She did break one that day, that does not usually happen

Wild fun!

This weekend we finally had Chad. So we drove for about 2 hours and went to some sand dunes and Russell got to go try riding off of pavement! Chad took his bike too and they all took rides. I stayed in the truck and stayed warm with the kid that was not out riding.
After the dunes we drove for another hour and a half to some natural hot springs. I took the pictures before I got in. I was not going to get in and out it was too cold. The water was so nice and warm! We stayed there for about 1.5 hours.

Yesterday morning, we went out before it started to rain again and we build this snowman his name is Sneezy.
And in the front yard we built two snow-ball walls.
Then we went in and had snow cones. Not hot chocolate. I bought the three flavors on clearance at the end of summer. he he he     They thought that it was the best!
I made these truffles to go to Chad's work party. I forgot to take a picture till we were sitting in the car outside the house we were going in. Going clockwise: the nut covered ones are chocolate truffles, then peanut butter truffles, then caramel chocolates, then chocolate chip cookie dough truffles, and last mint cookie truffles. I also made chocolate covered cherries two weeks ago but they still have not set up. Maybe by Christmas!

Salt Lake Lights

We were able to go to Salt Lake and enjoy some of the fun there a couple of weeks ago. Russell loved this drummer.
We took the TRAX (train) to temple square and the kids thought that it was the best thing ever!

The lights were amazing as always. And the temperature was great as well. It was almost warm. Which meant that there were a million people there!

They loved the lights in the water!
